How To Build Your Own Bookshelf

A bookshelf makes an excellent and fantastic storage space for books, ornaments and other miscellaneous items in your house. You can definitely easily build and make your own bookshelf by following these few simple instructions:
  1. Measure the specific size – once you have chosen the location of where your bookshelf will stand, you need to measure and determine the specific size that you want your bookshelf needs to be.
  2. Measure and cut the top, sides and interior – the easiest wood to be used is plywood.
  3. Cut your wood to length – take your pieces of wood and have them professionally cut to the length needed for cleaner edges.
  4. Create grooves for the interior shelves – for more stability and ability to hold more weight measure and make grooves for the interior shelves.
  5. Connect your unit – using glue and finishing nails, assemble your unit beginning with the exterior and finishing with the interior.
  6. Finishing touches – cover any holes or marks and paint to give it a nice even clean finish.
